Who Needs a 3DS? by PolishTamales Who Needs a 3DS? by PolishTamales
It's kinda sad that only after 4 months, the 3DS is now officially a failure. Some Nintendo purist (shameless fanboys) will deny such rubbish, but let's face it.

In the world of retail, a price cut that deep means it failed.

There's a lot of factors that caused the 3DS to fail and a lot of people that grew up with the original NES can agree with me. There just isn't any room for a portable Nintendo handheld in their lives anymore.

Here's a silent salute to the greatest Nintendo hardware ever made. Still pretty fresh out of it's box from the 80s, the thing still works (and I still suck at Tetris).

I would've kept the batteries... but they tend to leak after 2 decades...

I really want to buy myself a new gameboy colour, partly for nostalgia and partly because I want to play all my old games D:

I don't own a 3DS but I love playing with my brothers and I really enjoy it. I'd only consider it a failure if I thought it was crap to play but I don't base my personal opinion on how enjoyable something is because of how well it sells XD

Oh wow, one of the old brick-sized gray units - I haven't seen one of those in years!
I haven't tried a 3DS yet, but if I buy one it'll just be for portable Zelda rather than the bells and whistles. And I'll probably cart it around with my old pink game boy color with color! tetris. XD
Gotta hand it to those old systems, those things could be damn durable! My gameboy's outlast more cellphones than I can count.

I have three of those! :X
And I actually thought the same thing about the 3ds that it would be a failure with no hope.

im no fanboy and i don't disagree that the 3ds was a "failure" however the only reason it was one was because nintendo tried to sell it for an extra $50 making $250 when all their previous releases were $199 or less, and the damn thing only costs them $100 for parts and maybe $20 for labour and electricity., a price cut doesnt ALWAYS mean a failure, it means they werent selling anymore, i'd say selling 830,000 3DS's at $250 a piece is pretty damn good, now they will only make like $10 each console but they will profit more from the games, or make it $199 again. they still profit more from the DS anyway

Stockholders don't see it that way. This was suppose to usher in the next BIG THING for Nintendo, but it didn't. Why do you think their stocks dropped like rocks when this was announced?

It's a failure.
