This was originally a request from one of my Tumblr followers!
I kept in mind the practicality of wearing this while not making it too close to the literal, "girl in guy costume fetish."
The hood's a two piece, which you might find the design very close to the Assassin's Creed design. Everything else is very practical to make.
The only warning I might give to anyone who might try this design is that the traditional Chinese dress is meant for very slender women. The more petite and tall you are, the nicer it's going to look on you. However, if you're clocking over 25~50+ lbs overweight, I would highly recommend not wearing it. The cloak makes you even more bloated, so please keep in mind I'm warning you as a friend and not heckling large women to get skinny.
This costume was not built for large women in mind.
In terms of materials, I would highly recommend silk and Egyptian cotton. They're not cheap, but this costume was meant to radiate under light and anything you'd find at party city would drastically cheapen the design. If you're lucky to find a Chinese shop that does custom dresses, make sure you splurge a bit on fabric as well. There's a decent variety of them. In a way, it does double as formal wear.
